NISSAN SKYLINE 350 GT AUTO
The
Skyline 350GT Japanese in-dash screen can be converted
to full UK specification
Television reception (Analogue
or Digital), DVD/MP3 Playback and
Satellite Navigation
with other options to suit the customers requirements.
This
vehicle featured was converted from the standard onboard
Japanese satellite navigation system to full UK and
European navigation with feature's such as Postcode
Address Search, Points of Interest (POI) Display,
Alternate Route and turn-by-turn Voice Guidance.
Although the original Nissan navigation system remains
in the vehicle, the replacement unit that is fitted
takes full control of the GPS mapping and display, and
is operated by a remote handset.
The
navigation mapping data is provide from a DVD based unit
and is related to the vehicle position obtain from the
GPS satellites. GPS is a position detecting system
utilising the signals from GPS satellites by the U.S.
Department of Defence. The mobile navigation system uses
the input from three or more satellites and calculates
the vehicle position based on the principle of
triangulation DVD base mapping provides far more
information than CD derived data sources used in earlier
systems.
Points
Of Interest (POI) display allows the user to select
different POI icons on the selected route.

Navigation unit set-up also allows control of the
'Detour Distance', Auto re-route, System mode (Map or
Guide mode), Estimated travel time as well as features
like Voice repetition and Volume.
