UK Satellite Navigation conversion to your existing full colour GPS Satellite Navigation screen is achieved by fitting new GPS computer hardware located out-of-sight, working in parallel with the exiting Toyota OEM screen and (working) Japanese Navigation unit. UK Satellite Navigation conversions to Japanese Imports (JDM) do not modify the existing HIFI operation to English, alter the Radio display to English or change air conditioning information that is displayed on screen.

Satellite Navigation Hardware fitted normally exceeds operational reliability of portable units due to the use of vehicle speed sensing to 'marry up' mapping display when in built-up areas or tunnels, this can be vital in a busy town or city where GPS receiver signals could be poor - rendering the portable user with incorrect guidance information. The use of fast acting gyroscopes helps to ascertain position at junction intersections and roundabouts. Auto power-up operation means that the GPS computer can 'lock' the available positioning satellites immediately the ignition is turned-on.
